The Oniru of Iruland, Oba Gbolahan Lawal made it a point of duty to attend the 2020 Lagos Seafood…and he provided reasons for this move in the revelation that reads…

I once stumbled on a quote from the renown Anthropologist – Jane Goodall where she said “Each one of us matters, has a role to play, and makes a difference. Each one of us must take responsibility for our own lives, and above all, show respect and love for living things around us, especially each other.”

I found this inspiring and this is why I have made it a point of duty to ensure that sustainable living is achieved in Iru land via my #LeGIT vision.

In a bid to achieving this, two important elements of the #LeGIT roadmap – Agriculture and Tourism; came to play in Iru on Sunday, 13th December, 2020 as we joined @lagosagric01 as they hosted the 2020 Lagos Seafood Festival at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.

I was present myself not just because it was hosted in Iru land but because I was once the commissioner at the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, Agriculture is dear to me and I needed to encourage the fish farmers and other merchants present; as well as welcome tourists to Iru land and the seafood festival.

I would like to state that this is one of many more agricultural and tourist-centric activities that will take place in Iru land as it evolves into a truly resilient city, with a sustainable people.

I congratulate @lagosagric01 for putting together a stellar event and also all fish farmers and merchants who were present and made sales yesterday. I believe that together, we can make Iru land great as we walk and work together. #LeGIT
