who was laid to rest at the age of 93.
Family, friends, and associates from far and near gathered in Ipaja, Lagos, to honour the life and legacy of Overseer Matthew Adeyemi Akinrole, who was laid to rest at the age of 93.

The revered minister, who passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, was celebrated as a spiritual giant and tireless soldier of the cross whose decades of service in The Apostolic Church, Nigeria (LAWNA Territory) left a lasting impact on countless lives.

The farewell ceremonies began with a Night of Tributes on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at his residence, 2 Oyekan Street, off Command Road, Ipaja, where guests in gold attire shared heartfelt memories of his humility, discipline, and unwavering devotion to the gospel.

The Christian Wake Keep followed on Thursday in shades of purple, symbolizing reverence and royalty, as hymns and prayers filled the air.

On Friday, October 3, the interment took place at his residence after a moving outing service at The Apostolic Church, Ikola Oluomo District.

The event drew dignitaries, clergy, and community leaders who described Overseer Akinrole as a bridge builder, mentor, and compassionate leader.

Among family members who received guests was Mr. Samuel Akinrole, a senior aide to the Lagos State Commissioner for Water and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Dayo Alebiosu.

He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, saying his father lived a life marked by faith, discipline, and a genuine love for humanity.

The farewell concluded with a grand reception at The Hall Events Centre, Ogundele Street, Ipaja, where the colour royal blue symbolized peace and divine reward.

As the evening faded, guests reflected on a man whose quiet strength and steadfast devotion defined a lifetime of service.

To many, Overseer Akinrole’s legacy endures as that of a true servant of God — a man who lived not for recognition but for faith, love, and the eternal call of heaven.
