Senate 2027: Iyabo Obasanjo Empowers Coordinators For Deeper Grassroots Reach
strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the senatorial district
Former senator and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial candidate for Ogun Central, Iyabo Obasanjo, has empowered coordinators of the Iyaniwura Foundation with brand-new motorcycles to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the senatorial district ahead of the 2027 elections.
Obasanjo said the initiative was aimed at enabling the coordinators to reach communities, wards and villages more efficiently while deepening engagement with residents across Ogun Central.
She made this known while handing over the motorcycles to the foundation’s coordinators, describing them as “the real engine of our work.”
According to her, the coordinators traverse inner roads, interact directly with residents and ensure that communities are not left behind in the foundation’s activities.
“Our coordinators are the real engine of our work, traversing the inner roads, listening to the heartbeat of our people, and ensuring no ward or village is left behind,” she said.
Obasanjo explained that the provision of motorcycles was necessary because “true service requires mobility,” adding that the vehicles would enable the team to reach every corner of the senatorial district “with speed and efficiency.”
The former senator listed Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Ewekoro, Ifo, Obafemi-Owode and Odeda as the local government areas covered by the initiative.
She commended the coordinators for their commitment and dedication, urging them to intensify their grassroots activities.
“To our indefatigable coordinators, thank you for your commitment and drive. The work has just begun; let’s double our momentum and keep building a stronger, more connected Ogun State,” Obasanjo said.
The intervention comes as political parties and candidates begin preparations and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
