Again, Power Mongers Come After Ondo Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa

After a bit of reprieve, colorful allegations have started springing up against the acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Sources close to him, however, insist the development remains part of a dark agenda against Aiyedatiwa by people fingered as “power mongers”.

The power mongers are accused of orchestrating all manners of campaigns to pave the way for their choice to become the next Governor of Ondo state.

The next Ondo state gubernatorial election is earmarked for around October/November 2024.

And Aiyedatiwa who is one of the qualified persons to vie for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket has been a prime target of dark campaigns by the power mongers.

He has contended with narratives against his person and family in attempts to posture him as unworthy.

The narratives were particularly intense in a futile attempt to stop Governor Akeredolu from abiding by constitutional requirements that transformed Aiyedatiwa into Acting Governor.

Aiyedatiwa enjoyed a brief reprieve after he suffered that move but the power mongers have regrouped to launch another round of negative campaign – this time targeting the relationship between Governor Akeredolu and the Deputy Governor.

The fresh campaign is decorated with all manners of conjectures about the alleged actions and inactions of Aiyedatiwa as Acting Governor.

The “unfounded claims” are anchored on assertions that Akeredolu has finished his treatment in Germany and is about to return to the country

Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State constitutionally took over the affairs of the state in an “Acting capacity” in June 2023 to allow Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to travel abroad for the treatment of an ailment that has raised plenty of dust including speculations of near death.
