Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has revealed details of his meeting with the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, saying discussions centred on plans to establish a large-scale industrial and free trade zone at Olokola in the state.

Aiyedatiwa, who described the meeting as productive, said the proposed project represents a major step in Ondo State’s drive towards industrialisation and economic expansion.

“It was a delight to play host to the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in my office today,” the governor said.

According to him, “During the meeting, we had extensive discussions regarding his plans to develop a large-scale industrial and free trade zone at Olokola, Ondo State.”

The governor noted that the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision of transforming Ondo into a leading industrial hub in the South-West region.

“This project is a major milestone in Ondo State’s industrialisation agenda and aligns with our administration’s efforts to position the state as a leading industrial destination in the South-West,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa assured the Dangote Group of the state government’s full support, stressing that his administration would work closely with investors and host communities to guarantee the success of the project.

“Our administration will give maximum support to the initiative, and we will work closely with investors and host communities to ensure smooth implementation and long-term sustainability,” the governor added.

The proposed industrial and free trade zone is expected to boost investment, create employment opportunities and strengthen Ondo State’s position as a key economic and manufacturing destination in Nigeria.
