Senate Demand Ministers Rotimi Amaechi, Babatunde Fashola & Hadi Sirika Appear Within 2days Over Moves To Shutdown Only International Airport In Nation’s Capital

Minister of Aviation Rotimi Amaechi and his works counterpart Babatunde Fashola face official probe.

Also listed is minister of state for aviation Hadi Sirika.

The trio are mandated to appear before the state within two days to explain reason for planned closure of the only international airport in the nation’s capital.

The Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja is planned to shut down for renovation of it’s runaway.

The closure is meant to be a totally shut down of operations while the repair lasts.
But the Senate is kicking against the attempt based on the economic implication and attendant multiplier effect on a troubled economy as well as perception problem in the international community.

The closure is planned for a six weeks period.

But the Senate while mandating Amaechi, Fashola, Sirika and other public figures involved with the planned closure is seeking to find a way to avoid total stoppage of operations at the only international airport in Abuja.
