Away from the troubles that earned him a forced removal from office, the former Deputy Governor of Edo state, Philip Shaibu has recorded a win.

He won the Father’s Day Cooking Competition on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Shaibu who was impeached from office over what he labeled a quarrel with Governor Godwin Obaseki narrated how he emerged the overall winner of the cooking competition in a narrative he made on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Shaibu, who shared the featured pictures, wrote…

I am still beaming with pride and gratitude as I reflect on yesterday’s incredible experience at the Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Wuye, Abuja. The Fathers’ Day cooking competition, organized by the Church to commemorate this year’s Fathers’ Day, was a resounding success, and I feel honored to have emerged as the overall winner.

As a passionate home cook, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase my culinary skills alongside other talented fathers. The competition was fierce, but the camaraderie and support among contestants were palpable. We all shared a common goal – to celebrate our love for cooking and our role as fathers.

My winning dish, a humble yet delicious indomie, was a hit with the judges and the audience alike. It was a testament to the power of food to bring people together and create lasting memories. I am grateful to the organizers for putting together such a well-organized and enjoyable event, and to my fellow contestants for their warm congratulations and support.

This experience has reminded me of the importance of taking time to celebrate our passions and interests, even as busy fathers. I look forward to many more opportunities to share my love of cooking with others and to inspire my fellow fathers to do the same. Thank you again to Saint Agnes Catholic Church and the competition organizers for a wonderful experience!
