Emerging details have it that there is raging infighting among supporters of Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun state.
The information available to SocietyNow.Ng revealed that at the root of this development is the result of the March 18, 2023 election and the roles played by “different people”.
Abiodun recorded a slim win with shock defeats in places his loyalists claimed they were in charge before the election.
The win by 13,915 votes more than second-placed Ladi Adebutu – who is contesting the result -has led to grievous accusations against one another by Abiodun’s men.

Abiodun also lost in his ward and Local Government despite the Chairman and councilor being from his party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Governor has always been accused by sections of his supporters of populating his appointments with “people without influence and proper grasp” of the politics of their immediate environment.
The result of the March 18, governorship election resurfaced the accusations and vigorous push for a correction as the Governor prepares to form a new administration for his second term.
The persons labeled behind the “governorship election bad results” are fighting back with counteraccusations against their accusers in a spirited bid not to lose their positions and influence in the outgoing and incoming administrations.

Abiodun who was the candidate of the APC polled 276, 298 votes while Adebutu amassed 262, 383 votes.
Adebutu led a protest rally to the office of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) is kicking strongly against the result.
He claims there were orchestrated irregularities that forced the cancellation of results in areas where he is popular in Ishagamu.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate is insisting that by the doctrine of margin of lead before cancellation, he won the election.
Adebutu asserted he was leading by 33,000 votes before the cancellation of results in the affected area gave Abiodun the slim win by 13,915 votes.
