Former Governor Ibikunle Amosun has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ogun Central, insiders have confirmed.
The decision follows the harmonisation of factions within the party, which also produced Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the APC’s gubernatorial candidate.
The move sidelines Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ally, Senator Afolabi Shaibu, from seeking re-election.
Meanwhile, Abiodun and Gbenga Daniel are locked in a battle over the Ogun East senatorial ticket, as Abiodun Akinlade is tipped to replace Adeola in Ogun West.
