Abiodun’s Top Man Eyes Olumide Osoba’s Reps Seat
widely believed to be preparing to seek a fourth term in 2027.
A top figure in the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun is said to be eyeing the House of Representatives seat currently held by Olumide Osoba, son of former governor and elder statesman, Aremo Olusegun Osoba.
Osoba represents the Obafemi/Owode/Odeda/Abeokuta North Federal Constituency and is widely believed to be preparing to seek a fourth term in 2027.
However, emerging indications suggest the third-term lawmaker may face an unexpected challenge.
Sources say the potential challenger is a cabinet member in the Abiodun administration from Abeokuta North.
The development is drawing attention in political circles, particularly because Governor Abiodun has remained a loyal ally of Aremo Osoba since assuming office in 2019.
“Osoba has received tremendous recognition from the Ogun State Government since Abiodun became governor, which is why speculation is growing that any challenge to his son’s re-election may be coming from within the state government,” a source familiar with the situation said.
