Why Daniel Is Favored For Ogun East Senate Ticket- Insiders 

Insiders say Gbenga Daniel has emerged in pole position to retain the Ogun East senatorial ticket despite mounting pressure from Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The advantage, sources say, is tied to signals from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the harmonisation of factions within the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The exercise produced Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the party’s gubernatorial candidate and settled the Ogun Central and Ogun West tickets, but left the Ogun East contest unresolved.

Sources say the standoff reflects a deeper power play within the APC over control of Ogun’s 2027 political architecture, with both camps locked in a high-stakes contest.

Despite the impasse, insiders insist the balance of power favours Daniel.

“Daniel is in pole position to secure the ticket; Abiodun is likely to be compensated elsewhere,” a source said.
