The fight for political supremacy in Ogun state has spilled onto the streets.

The supremacy fight is between Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosu, the immediate past Governor lost control of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a futile effort to stop Abiodun from succeeding him.

Amosun is fighting hard to regain control of the party and appears to be making some wins with some of those who abandoned him for Abiodun returning to his side.

Abiodun and his backers are not just fighting to hold on to political power but to extend it beyond the 2023 general election.

The fight between the Governor and the Senator and their backers has spilled onto the streets societynow.ng learned.

It has pitched two popular transport bosses in Ogun state against each other.

On one side is Jango, the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ogun state during the reign of Amosun as Governor.

Jango – real name Akeem Adeosun – is a staunch loyalist of the former Governor.

He became a member of the Board of Trustees of the NURTW, the transport union also informally known as “National” after Amosun left office as Governor,

Jango has taken up protecting the interest of Amosun as things get testy with Abiodun.

On the other side is Akibu Titilayo the transport union boss popularly known as Efele.

Efele is the Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Ogun state.

The Head of the transport union also popularly known as “Road” is a hardcore Abiodun man.

He has taken up the gauntlet of protecting the street credibility of the Governor as things get more passionate with Amosun.

It is an advantage to Efele that Iyeru – real name Akeem Bodurin – who is the chairman of the Park Management Services Limited (the agency that has taken the role of the NURTW in Ogun state) is also a strong supporter of Governor Abiodun.

Iyeru became the Chairman of the Part Management Services when National President of the NURTW Tajudeen Baruwa opposed Governor Abiodun in making him Ogun state chairman of “National”.
