Rotimi Amaechi, the minister for Transportation is in for a rough time – and it is not ending soon.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the reason for this is simple – Amaechi has become one of those gunning the biggest stake in 2023.

He wants to become the next President of Nigeria and talks that he is a favorite of President Muhammadu Buhari have put a large bull’s mark on his back.

SocietyNow.Ng learned that was why the response to Amaechi’s pointing of fingers over Monday’s deadly attack on a Kaduna-bound train from Abuja met with an instant and point-taking response.

Amaechi’s claims that his proposal for surveillance and safety protocol that would have prevented the attack that resulted in the deaths of passengers – and the abduction of high profile persons – was not approved is seen as posturing himself for 2023 election by cutting ties with the tragedy that happened under his watch.

“He was seen as trying to splatter the blame on other persons and suffered the consequence with the leaked document showing he wanted approval for a N3Billion opaque security arrangement and it was rejected for it to be made transparent. And there are indications of more backlash to come and insiders blame Amaechi for the situation he has found himself in” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Insiders insist that Amaechi is considered a good guy, a dependable ally who watches out for and is extremely loyal to his friends, particularly when interests align – but he battles with the inclination to make extra talk.

“And that is what landed him in the current mess that provided the perfect reason for hitting at him, the extra talk he shouldn’t have made” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

The added information available revealed that dark suggestions are being made about Amaechi’s ties with one of Nigeria’s biggest creditors China. That the big money country, like Buhari is favorably disposed to Amaechi as likely successor among other things.

“The talks are that he has opened the flood gate with his indirect attacks on others by pointing fingers at others for the tragedy under his watch and the attacks won’t stop until a candidate has been chosen by his party (ruling All Progressives Congress – APC) determines its presidential candidate for the 2023 election” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Amaechi is one of the aspirants for the APC ticket while the person at the other end of his finger-pointing in the failure to approve the security proposal that might have prevented monday’s train attack is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Osinbajo – though has not announced his intention – is the second most talked about aspirant for the APC presidential ticket, after Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who has declared his ambition.
