Why Daily Times Named Bago Gov Of The Year
received the award at the Daily Times Centenary Heroes Award held in Abuja.
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has been named the “Governor of the Year” by the Daily Times Nigeria newspaper.
Bago, popularly known as the “Farmer Governor”, received the award at the Daily Times Centenary Heroes Award held in Abuja.
The award recognised his contributions to agriculture, agribusiness, infrastructure and other sectors of the Niger State economy.
Speaking after receiving the award, Bago expressed delight over the recognition, describing it as “an additional push” to do more for the overall benefit of the people.
He appreciated the Daily Times Nigeria for recognising his administration’s efforts, particularly in agriculture and support for agribusinesses.
The event, organised by Folio Media Group, owners of Daily Times Nigeria, also honoured the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, some state governors, lawmakers, business leaders and technocrats in various categories.
Chairman of Folio Media Group, Fidelis Anosike, said the awardees were being recognised for their contributions to humanity and their support for the organisation.
The event also featured the unveiling of a book by the SGF and a keynote address by Dr Akinwumi Adesina, former President of the African Development Bank, who was among the award recipients.
