The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Lagos Free Trade Zone Command, on Friday, 31 October 2025, hosted the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, in what marked the first-ever official visit by a sitting Police Commissioner to the Command.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Abiola Abdullahi-Lagos.

CP Jimoh was warmly received by the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Hauwa Abubakar, along with her management team and senior officers.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police commended the NCS for its collaborative spirit and longstanding partnership with the Police in maintaining peace and security across Lagos State.

He praised the existing synergy between both agencies, describing it as a cornerstone of national security and economic stability. CP Jimoh further pledged to strengthen the relationship, assuring Comptroller Abubakar of his full support whenever assistance is required along the Lekki corridor or elsewhere in the state.

Emphasising the importance of inter-agency cooperation, he cautioned against rivalry among security organisations and urged continuous collaboration, mutual trust, and intelligence sharing to enhance operational efficiency.

In her response, Comptroller Abubakar expressed delight at the visit, describing it as a significant milestone in the Command’s history. She noted her longstanding productive relationship with the Police throughout her career, describing the current Commissioner as “a friend, a brother, and a trusted colleague.”

The Comptroller also commended the Akodo Police Division and the Police formation within the Lagos Free Zone for their consistent support in maintaining law and order in the area.

She reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining its partnership with the Lagos State Police Command in advancing national peace, facilitating trade, and promoting economic growth.
