It’s a wrap insiders insist.

This assertion is in relation to the planned defection of Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun from the ruling All Progressives Congress according to information available to societynow.ng.

Amosun is backing his anointed candidate Adekunle Akinlade to become the next Governor of Ogun state.

Ironically Akinlade is contesting for the number one position in Ogun state on the platform of another political party, All People’s Movement.

Amosun is said to have orchestrated the defection of Akinlade from APC to become the gubernatorial candidate of the APM.

Akinlade’s defection comes on the heels of a very intense power struggle between Amosun and other stakeholders led by National Chairman of APC Adams Oshiomole.

Amosun lost out and suffered heavy decimation of influence and clout as party tickets to elective positions were withdrawn from his loyalists.

Sources disclosed despite multiple ‘’ threats and moves to appease”, Amosun has refused to back down on the path of working against his party to install a successor of his choice.

The investigation conducted by societynow.ng revealed that the grand plan is that Amosun would remain in APC and continue to campaign for the re-election of president Muhammadu Buhari while also using his position to boost Akinlade’s chances of success at the poll by the day.

‘’But after the presidential election, just before the gubernatorial election Amosun plans to defect to the APM to give the much needed all it takes a final push at attaining victory” an insider disclosed.

Societynow.ng gathered that the ploy is aimed at claiming credit for Buhari’s possible victory and cementing the ‘’claim” by helping Akinlade become next governor.

Checks by societynow.ng, however, revealed that Amosun’s chances of attaining victory are hundred percent possible – if all other contending forces remain ‘’static”.
