Advertising great, Tunji Olugbodi, has unveiled Live Wire, a forthcoming thriller he said reflects a broader commitment to African storytelling and the development of the creative economy.

He is the executive producer of the defining project.

Olugbodi, who announced the project, said the film explores the difficult choices people make when family, power, justice and personal responsibility collide.

According to him, Live Wire goes beyond telling the story of individuals, as it also examines the institutions and values that shape society.

He said the production had been in development for several months, involving a team of creative professionals working to bring the story to the screen.

“Today, I am pleased to introduce Live Wire, a forthcoming thriller for which I serve as Executive Producer,” Olugbodi said.

“The film explores the choices people make when family, power, justice and personal responsibility collide.

“It is a story about individuals, but it also examines the institutions and values that shape society,” he added.

Olugbodi said the objective was to create a film that would entertain audiences while encouraging them to reflect on issues that are relevant to their everyday lives.

“We want audiences to enjoy a compelling and beautifully crafted film while recognising questions that are not far removed from their own lives,” he further revealed.

Beyond the film itself, the Executive Producer said the project represented part of a wider effort to create opportunities for meaningful African stories to be developed, produced and taken to audiences.

“For me, Live Wire represents more than the production of another film,” he disclosed, deepening insight with “It is one expression of a broader commitment to African storytelling and the possibilities within our creative economy.”

Olugbodi said his wider work through TOP FILMS was aimed at building platforms capable of supporting the development and production of meaningful stories while connecting them with audiences.

“Through TOP FILMS and our wider work, we are building platforms where meaningful stories can be developed, produced and connected with audiences,” he shared.

He revealed that further details about the film, its creative team and the conversations it seeks to generate would be unveiled in the coming weeks.

“In the coming weeks, I look forward to sharing more about the story, the people behind it and the conversations we hope it will inspire,” Olugbodi stated.

He concluded with a teaser for the forthcoming production: “Live Wire is coming. I invite you to follow the journey.”
