Inside Fresh Plot To Blow Out Adebutu & Gov Amosun’s Man Akinlade Out Of Intense Ogun Guber Race

An audacious plot is under way.

And the objective is simple – blow out Adekunle Akinlade and Ladi Adebutu out of the intense battle to determine the next governor of Ogun state.

Akinlade, the preferred candidate of outgoing governor Ibikunle Amosun defected from the All Progressives Congress to become gubernatorial flag bearer of the All People’s Movement.

Adebutu is one of the two candidates of factionalized People’s Democratic Party in Ogun state.

The other candidate, Kashamu Buruji is part of the plot to blow out Akinlade and Adebutu out of the intense gubernatorial race.

Societynow.ng learned that the plot which is said to be underway would see Kashamu backing Dapo Abiodun, the candidate of the APC in Ogun state to become Amosun’s successor.

Kashamu owns a more formidable political structure in Ogun state than virtually all the other contestants.

But the People’s Democratic Party chieftain is battling expulsion from his party and related legal tangles in the bid to ‘’forcefully remain a member of the PDP and its gubernatorial candidate”.

Societynow.ng gathered that talks are ‘’underway” for Kashamu to throw weight behind Abiodun’s ambition in exchange for ‘’government protection” from his troubles out of politics.

Kashamu who is a Senator representing Ogun East is battling attempts to extradite him for an alleged drug offense in the United States of America.

There are claims he is desperate to become Governor to secure immunity and leverage on the position to make his trouble go away.

Kashamu and his team continue to deny the talks at every corner it turns up.

Insiders, however, insist the powers behind Dapo Abiodun – who faces stiff opposition from party man and governor of Ogun state Amosun – are in talks with Kashamu to back the APC candidate in exchange for the much sought after ‘’immunity” from his troubles abroad.

‘’This is based on the conviction that ruling party APC would retain power at the federal level and in Ogun state” a source disclosed.

‘’Naturally aside blowing out Akinlade and Adebutu out of the race, the plot is meant to also take care of the growing popularity of Action Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate Gboyega Isiaka” a source pointed out.
