Influential & 38 Years Old: Meet Close Friends Who Died In Anthony Joshua Fatal Crash
deepening public understanding of the human tragedy behind the incident
Fresh details have emerged on the two close friends of British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua who lost their lives in the fatal road crash that occurred on Monday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, deepening public understanding of the human tragedy behind the incident.
The deceased were identified as Sina Ghami, 36, and Kevin “Latif” Ayodele, 38, both influential figures in the international fitness and sports performance space and long-standing members of Joshua’s inner circle.
Authorities confirmed that the two men died at the scene of the accident, while Joshua and others involved sustained varying degrees of injuries and are said to be in stable condition.

Ghami, a respected strength and conditioning coach, had worked closely with Joshua for several years and was regarded as a key figure in the boxer’s physical preparation and recovery.
Based in the United Kingdom, he co-founded a performance gym and was known for his expertise in rehabilitation, corrective exercise, and elite athletic conditioning.
Beyond boxing, he had worked with professional athletes across different sports, earning a reputation for blending science-based training with practical performance methods.

Ayodele, popularly known as “Latz,” was a personal trainer and fitness influencer who also maintained a close personal relationship with Joshua.
He was widely recognised in fitness circles for promoting discipline, mental resilience, and healthy living, both through one-on-one coaching and his online platforms.

Before transitioning fully into fitness, he had been involved in semi-professional football in England, an experience that shaped his approach to training and mentorship.
Both men were described by associates as more than just trainers, but trusted confidants who formed part of Joshua’s day-to-day support system during training camps and major career moments.

Their deaths have triggered an outpouring of tributes from athletes, fitness professionals, and fans, many of whom highlighted their behind-the-scenes influence on elite sports performance.
The crash, which occurred while the group was travelling through Ogun State, is still under investigation, with officials saying further details will be made public after preliminary findings are concluded.
Meanwhile, the loss of Ghami and Ayodele has cast a sombre shadow over the boxing and fitness communities, underscoring the personal toll of the tragedy beyond the headlines surrounding the global sports star.
