One of the popular kings in Oyo state, Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji taken up the case of Sunday Igboho and his arrested aides.

The move by Olubadan came to light when supporters of Igboho protested at his palace over the arrest of the aides in an early morning raid by security operatives.

Olubadan who spoke through his media aide, Adeola Okoko – according to a report monitored by societynow.ng on dailypost.ng – told the protesters who wore black attires that he would forward their demands to the Federal Government.

The protesters demanded the unconditional release of Igboho’s aides and N500million as compensation for his ordeal.

They were at Olubadan’s palace on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

13 persons were arrested at the Soka, Ibadan, Oyo state residence of the agitator who has gone underground in the raid championed by the Department of State Service (DSS).

Twelve persons were disclosed as aides of the popular agitator of Yoruba Nation while the thirteenth person that the DSS said it is profiling is said to be a “Blogger.”

The DSS which premised the early morning raid of Igboho’s residence on allegations of stockpiling of arms showcased weapons allegedly seized at the place.

Igboho denied the claim and accused the agency of planting the weapons in his home.

He is threatening the agency with N5000m court case over the matter.

Pictures and videos released after the raid by the security operatives showed wrecked parts of his residence as well as those of high-value properties.

The DSS meanwhile insists Igboho remains a person of interest and asks that he turns himself in.
