Details: Gbenga Daniel & Amosun To Reconcile
Abiodun is faced with claims of not properly handling those that helped him to power
There are moves to reconcile former Governors of Ogun state Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun.
Daniel who joined the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) last year was the Governor of Ogun state from May 2003 to May 2011.
The 65year old served on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Amosun, 63, succeeded Daniel on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) – one of the political parties that merged to become the APC- in 2011 and secured a second term on the bill of the APC in 2015.
Amosun gave Daniel better known as OGD (Otunba Gbenga Daniel) a “hellish” time as Governor.

Daniel was investigated, prosecuted and many of his projects were abandoned and contracts his administration signed invalidated.
But he paid Amosun back in 2019 by siding with other political forces to take power from his hands, especially stopping him from installing his choice as Successor.
Dapo Abiodun the incumbent Governor of Ogun elected on the platform of the APC in 2019 was the beneficiary of the move by Daniel and others against Amosun.
“That there are moves to reconcile Daniel and Amosun and there is a very strong indication it will scale through tells how much things have gone south between Governor Abiodun and OGD ” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
Abiodun is faced with claims of not properly handling those that helped him to power which has resulted in an increasing loss of support as another election nears.

The Governor is accused of excessively favoring just one out of the political families that emerged to help him win the 2019 election.
Former Governor Amosun, an unrelenting opponent of Abiodun has been reaping from development by wooing those aggrieved to his side.
Amosun is said to have learned from the lessons of the 2019 election loss suffered by his political family to make mend fences with political leaders and other stakeholders in the state.
He has secured the support of a number of major players including all the Senators in the state, former Speaker Muyiwa Oladipo, and others who publicly identify with him.

“Once he fully reconciles with OGD, it is game over for Abiodun because all things being equal there is no way the Governor will best a tag team of those two in Ogun state irrespective of who is backing him” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
Further checks revealed that across party lines Amosun and Daniel are the two major politicians with the most formidable political structures in Ogun State.
“The reconciliation move is on and those involved are very positive it will work out” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
