Amosun, Daniel ‘Twinnie’ For Tinubu
coordinated appearance stood out among dignitaries
Former Ogun State governors Ibikunle Amosun and Gbenga Daniel made a striking joint appearance on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as they ‘reunited’ publicly during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state.
The duo, after a spell of absence, appeared to return to familiar style—sitting side by side and dressed in matching outfits—at the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport in Iperu-Ilishan, Ogun State.
Their coordinated appearance stood out among dignitaries, most of whom wore the event’s signature blue attire, subtly reinforcing what observers described as a “twinnie” moment.
The symbolism became more pronounced when a guest reportedly vacated a seat to allow Amosun sit beside Daniel.
The development comes amid shifting political undercurrents in Ogun State.
Both men are said to be on different pages with Governor Dapo Abiodun, despite belonging to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
While Abiodun is believed to be making moves towards reconciliation with Amosun, his relationship with Daniel remains strained.

At the heart of the tension is the contest for the Ogun East senatorial seat ahead of 2027.
Daniel, the incumbent, is reportedly seeking another term, while Abiodun is eyeing the same seat, setting the stage for a major showdown.
The high-profile event drew an array of political heavyweights and business leaders. Among those in attendance were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and former Ogun governor Olusegun Osoba.
Also present were governors from Zamfara, Bayelsa, Taraba, Ekiti, Ondo, Niger, and Lagos States, alongside Oyo State Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal and Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.
Other notable attendees included Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, Central Bank Governor Olayemi Cardoso, Minister of Culture and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa, Chairman of Dangote Group Aliko Dangote, and Chairman of BUA Group Abdul Samad Rabiu, as well as businessman Femi Otedola and Zenith Bank Chief Executive Officer Adaora Umeoji.
Security and institutional heads such as Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu and Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adeniyi were also in attendance.
