Why Gov Zulumi Is A “Die-Hard” Fan Of Tinubu

Babagana Umara Zulum, the 52years old Governor of Borno state is a die hard fan of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu those who should know insist.

Zulum who as the rector of a Polytechnic kept on teaching students at the University of Maiduguri – where he secured a Ph.D. (Soil and Water Engineering) in 2009 – is said to be in great awe of the political mastery of Tinubu.

“You need to hear him speak about Tinubu to get the kind of affection he has for the political leader” those who have been in close quarters with Zulum asserted.

Zulum a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) succeeded party man Kashim Shettima as the Governor of Borno state in 2019.

Interestingly Shettima and his predecessor Ali Modu Sheriff are also said to be fans of the political moves of Asiwaju Tinubu.

Tinubu has always backed the ascension to power of the proper “candidates” in that area.

“But Zulumi is especially in love with the thinking and deft political moves of Tinubu, he praises the party leader at every mention of his name. He always says it is hard to understand how anybody can be so blessed with understanding realities of politics” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos state survived ferocious opposition against an incumbent President (Olusegun Obasanjo) – as the only Governor of his party (Alliance for Democracy) – to ‘build” a national party (All Progressives Congress) that ended the 16 years reign of the political party (People’s Democratic Party) that brought Obasanjo to power.

The former Governor is decorated with talk of a presidential ambition with support groups springing up in different parts of the country urging the 69 years old National leader of the APC to contest the 2023 election.

Further revelations revealed that Zulum’s awe of Tinubu was enhanced when the political leader got involved in helping to end insecurity in Borno state and other parts of the country.

Borno state has been one of the hotbeds of Boko Haram attacks with Zulum the subject of multiple assassination attempts.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Zulum and Tinubu had closed-door sessions – including the widely reported night meeting in April 2021 – to end the Boko Haram scourge.

Zulum’s awe of Tinubu was reportedly magnified beyond measures by the political leader’s contributions at the engagements.
