Details As Aregbesola & Amosun’s Man Adegbite Battle For Ministry Of Works…Why They May Not Get It!

Inside information revealed that the battle over who gets what ministry amongst the ministerial nominees – and their backers – is on and it is very intense.

One of the major fronts the battle is being executed is over who takes charge of the plum Ministry of Works and Housing.

Societynow.ng learned that the two major contenders are former Governor of Osun State Rauf Aregbesola and Olamilekan Adegbite, the former two-term commissioner in Ogun state fronting for the interests of Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Insiders disclosed that the two are squaring up based on the influences backing them and track records in the management of similar portfolios at the state level.

Aregbesola was a former commissioner for Works in Lagos state before he became a two-term governor of Lagos state.

Adegbite held the same position in the two-term administration of immediate past Governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun.

Aregbesola, however, appeared to have an edge as a result of ‘’expanded’’ period of operation to point to results in different terrains as a commissioner and governor.

Societynow.ng gathered that While Amosun is backing Adegbite to clinch the job, Aregbe is leveraging on own clout as a former governor and the influences and support of National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Chairman Adams Oshiomole, and their co-travelers.

Societynow.ng, however, gathered that there appears to be a third force that may swing the job away from both Adegbite and Aregbesola.

Insiders disclosed that some stakeholders within the presidency are pushing for Godswill Akpabio, the former Senate Minority Leader to take over the Ministry of Works.

Akpabio, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom state and immediate past Senate Minority leader defected from the rival People’s Democratic Party to become the harrow head of the All Progressives Congress in his region.

‘’The push for him to get the job is hinged on the belief that the ministry comes with benefits that would give Akpabio much needed visibility and patronage to achieve the objective that brought him to APC while executing the national assignments associated with his job’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng gathered that fight for the ministry of works erupted based on claims that Babatunde Fashola, the ministerial nominee who held sway at the place in the past administration would be posted to focus primarily on the Ministry of Power.

Fashola was the immediate past Minister for Power, Works, and Housing.
