Supporters of former governor of Ogun state Aremo Olusegun Osoba are putting pressure on him to help secure political appointments.

Societynow.ng learned that this development is in the face of recent happenings at the state and federal levels.

Insiders claim at the state level Governor Dapo Abiodun is been waited upon to favor the Osoba group with ‘’worthwhile ‘’ inclusion in his government.

Osoba is said to have informed his supporters that he doesn’t intend to beg Governor Abiodun to give appointments to anybody.

‘’I believe the Governor (Abiodun) knows what is right and I believe he will do what is right at the appropriate time’’ is said to be Osoba’s anthem anytime his supporters raise the issue of the need to secure appointments to creates benefits – for loyalists – to sustain his political movement.

Societynow.ng gathered that Osoba’s position has become unacceptable to his supporters with the major win made by their political enemy, Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun – immediate past governor but now a Senator – just got his choice Olamilekan Adegbite appointed as the Ministerial nominee from Ogun State.

Interestingly, Osoba and others worked very hard against Amosun to ensure that Dapo Abiodun became the Governor of Ogun state.

Amosun sponsored another candidate – Adekunle Akinlade – against his party (All Progressives Congress) on the bill of rival Allied People’s Movement.

Akinlade is currently contesting the election that brought Abiodun to power with silent backing from Amosun.

‘’Osoba’s supporters are angry that it is the same Amosun that got the ministerial slot for Ogun State for his loyalist while they continue to wait for Governor Abiodun to appreciate them with an appointment that appears nowhere in sight’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed the situation is starting to turn bad between Osoba and his supporters as the pressure for him to go all out to secure ‘’political appointments’’ intensifies.

‘’Already talks of what is the point of staying loyal to a leader and party that do not recognize them have started erupting amongst the supporters’’ societynow.ng learned.

This development is playing out against the background of the underground campaign by opposition parties in the bid to gain widespread support ahead of the next general election.
