Popular Traditional Ruler Steps Into Gbenga Daniel & Dapo Abiodun’s Quarrel
keen to see the two politicians resolve their differences
Emerging details have it that a popular traditional ruler has stepped into the cold war between former Governor Gbenga Daniel and incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun.
SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Samuel Ajayi is trying to quash the fire of discord between his two prominent subjects.
The Akarigbo is the paramount ruler of Remo where Daniel and Abiodun hail from in Ogun East.
The occupant of the popular traditional stool is said to be keen to see the two politicians resolve their differences and work together as “people from the same area” for the good of the state.
“But a recent encounter between Daniel and Abiodun at the Palace of the Akarigbo did not end the rift” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
The information at hand revealed that the traditional ruler tried to make peace between the two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the ‘encounter” but it appeared the “things at stake” run deeper than envisaged.
Daniel is contesting as the Senatorial candidate of the APC for Ogun East against the wishes of Governor Abiodun.
Abiodun and his loyalists went as far as snubbing the flag-off of Daniel’s senatorial campaign.
And it has not helped narratives about their rapport that the former governor is being linked to Senator Ibikunle Amosun who has declared he doesn’t want Abiodun to be re-elected as the Governor of Ogun State.
Amosun is backing Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as next Governor of Ogun State.
