BUA Group Boosts Agro-Industrial Value With Deal To Build 2Million MT Wheat Handling Facility
will link the company’s port terminal directly to its flour and pasta mills in Port Harcourt
In a strategic move to bolster Nigeria’s agro-industrial value chain, BUA Group has signed a major contract for the construction and installation of a modern Wheat Conveying and Handling Equipment facility with a processing capacity of two million metric tonnes per annum.
The facility will link the company’s port terminal directly to its flour and pasta mills in Port Harcourt, Rivers State—streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency.
The agreement was formalized on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the BUA Group Middle East Office in Dubai, UAE. Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, and Okcul Barlik, CEO of Agrimac Makina Limited, the equipment partner, both signed the contract.

This investment aligns with BUA Group’s commitment to “Unlocking Opportunities,” one of its guiding principles focused on deepening economic impact through industrial infrastructure.
The new facility is expected to reduce logistic bottlenecks, ensure faster product throughput, and support food security efforts by enabling quicker delivery of raw wheat from the ports to BUA’s processing plants.
The development also reflects BUA’s broader vision of transforming Nigeria’s agricultural processing sector through backward integration, job creation, and infrastructure development.
It adds to a growing list of bold economic interventions by the company aimed at driving sustainable growth in key sectors
