Multiple sources confirm that the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun state(APC), Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba insists he will not ask any favor of new governor Dapo Abiodun.

Osoba played a pivotal role in the emergence of Abiodun as the governor of Ogun state.

The political leader was one of the early backers – and at the very forefront of – Abiodun’s bid to become the Governor of Ogun state.

But Osoba withdrew to the background on the heels of the accommodation of other political interests – outside the APC – that helped Abiodun to secure victory.

Since Abiodun assumed power, Osoba has made conscious efforts to be seen as not ‘’intruding’’ in the manner the new governor administers Ogun state.

Societynow.ng learned that Osoba told people close to him that ‘’I will not involve myself in things I am not invited by the governor to be to be a part of and I will not ask any favor of him’’.

Societynow.ng gathered that this stance is premised on the efforts to by the former governor to protect self from possible conflicts that may arise from the raging campaign by the coalition of political interests that brought governor Abiodun to power to corner favorable slice of appointments made by his government.

Insiders insist that Osoba has refused pressure from his supporters to solicit appointments for them from governor Abiodun.

‘’The supporters believe that they are the original group that gave Abiodun’s victory the much-needed foundation and push. That they deserve special recognition with a higher number of appointments than any other political group that helped the governor to win the election’’ societynow.ng.

Multiple sources, however, insist that Osoba rejects this line of argue by his supporters and insists that ‘’the governor should be left to run his government and give appointments the way he deems’’.
