Inside Ogun State’s Newly Transformed 250-Bed Gateway Medical Centre

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming healthcare delivery with the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence (GMC), Abeokuta, a 250-bed multi-specialty hospital equipped to provide world-class medical services.

The facility boasts a fully equipped 10-bed Intensive Care Unit, four state-of-the-art operating theatres and specialised services covering obstetrics and gynaecology, radiodiagnostics, orthopaedics, neurology, neurosciences and other medical and surgical fields. Since commencing radiodiagnostic services, the Centre has already attended to over 600 patients, with capacity being expanded to serve between 3,000 and 4,000 patients in the coming months.

Governor Abiodun said the investment underscores his administration’s determination to provide residents with access to quality and specialised healthcare services in a purpose-built facility designed to meet international standards.

The Governor noted that the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence represents another major step towards building a stronger and more responsive healthcare system, with emphasis on excellent patient care, modern medical technology and improved health outcomes for the people of Ogun State.
