False Impression!…Afikuyomi Far From Becoming A Member Of Asiwaju Tinubu’s Crew

It is not all the time that pictures tell the true stories of situations – and this is one of such cases.

Insiders disclosed that Tokunbo Afikuyomi, the Senator who later became a commissioner in Lagos state, is far from returning to the fold of the political family of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Afikuyomi was one of the hugely reported faces when Tinubu was conferred with an honorary doctorate in Public Administration at the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti.

The development sparked off talks that Afikuyomi – who sided with estranged former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the height of the battle with Tinubu – is back in the camp of his ‘’benefactor’’.
Multiple sources within the Tinubu political family, however, insist this is far from reality.

Before he lost his position over an ill-fated gubernatorial ambition, Afikuyomi was one of the leading players in the Tinubu political family.

The refusal of Tinubu to back Afikuyomi – who risked all multiple times for the powerful politician – in the ambition to become Lagos governor forced the former Senator to take steps that alienated him from his ‘’benefactor’’.

Tinubu is credited with all that Afikuyomi amounted to before he slipped into political obscurity.
Insiders disclosed that though Afikuyomi is trying to ‘’warm’’ his way back to the fold that gave him ‘’substance’’, he has a very limited chance of gaining the relevance of yore.

‘’You know Asiwaju believes nobody is outrightly useless…he always finds a purpose for everybody, i believe based on that Afikuyomi is now allowed to be around him but not as a member of the main crew. He is hobnobbing with Asiwaju and his men as a hanger on of a sort’’ an insider asserted.

Societynow.ng learned the opinion against Afikuyomi in the Tinubu’s camp is that the former Senator crossed ‘’the line beyond redemption’’ when he was in working against the interests of his ‘’benefactor’’.
