BUA Group never took possession of the 50,000 hectares of land it was offered in Kogi state SocietyNow.Ng learned.

“BUA group never took possession of the land nor unutilized since it was offered in 2012 and does not intend to ” information at hand revealed.

Further digs by SocietyNow.Ng revealed the reasons for this stance taken by the popular cement manufacturer with multiple presidential commendations for enviable exploits.

Information at hand revealed that the group named “Outstanding Indigenous Conglomerate of the Decade” is not comfortable with the fact that the 50,000-hectare land is only accessible by water and lacks any form of enabling infrastructure that would aid the setting up “operation for intended purposes.”

Added information revealed that the leading foods, infrastructure, mining, and manufacturing conglomerate also found it discouraging that different administration since 2012 has not made any effort to address this development.

Added to the mix is said to be the issue of increasing security challenges in and around the area of the land offered to the group at the forefront of the push for making Cement and Sugar available to Nigerians at very affordable prices.

The information at hand revealed that the security situation in the area of the land has deteriorated over the years, scaring investors away.

The clincher for the major contributor to the nation’s economy, however, is said to be the result of a feasibility study that revealed only 30% of the entire land mass is suitable for intended purposes. 65% of the 50,000-hectare land is said to be filled with rocky, highly, and unfavorable areas for set objectives.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that BUA Group informed the Kogi state government of its concerns as well as the decision not to go ahead with its investment plan.
