Untold Story: Insiders Revealed What Happened To One Of The Three ‘’Missing’’ Helicopters Bought By Lagos State

On Monday, August 24, 2020, the Lagos State House of Assembly issued a summon to Tayo Ayinde, the chief of staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget and Commissioner for Special Duties and Management of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) to come and explain the whereabouts of the three helicopters bought by the government.

According to the Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mojisola Miranda ‘’ “In 2015, three helicopters were bought under Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to strengthen security in the state. But, the helicopters are nowhere to be found now.

In what many considered a low blow, the summoning was made without notice to the Chief of Staff on his birthday.

Reports of summoning to explain the whereabouts of missing helicopters overshadowed the deluge of 56th birthday wishes for Ayinde.

Societynow.ng, however, learned Ayinde might have been subject of snide politicking over an issue that there are strong indications that his hands her clean.

Insiders disclosed one of the points in favor of Ayinde is the whereabouts of one of the helicopters.
‘’The Helicopter bearing Vice President (Yemi) Osinbajo that crash-landed in Kogi state is one of the three helicopters ’’ societynow.ng learned.

The Vice President had the accident with a Helicopter chartered from Caverton Helicopter on February 2, 2019, in Kabba, Kogi State during the build-up to the 2019 presidential election.

The Helicopter was operated on behalf of the Lagos State Government by Carverton Helicopter served the dual purposes of security surveillance and commercial.

‘’Caverton didn’t do anything wrong if it took Osinbajo on a charter in the helicopter because it was part of the arrangement with the Lagos State to earn money with it for the government, obviously part of the arrangement was not to crash it’’ societynow.ng learned.

The incident happened before Ayinde who was postured as having an explanation to give about the whereabouts of the Helicopters in the manner he was summoned occupied his present position.
