“Suffering & Smiling” – Those Giving Covid-19 Vaccines To Public In Ogun Declare

Those contracted to give Covid-19 Vaccines to the public in Ogun State say their case remains that of “suffering and smiling”.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that they are now owed thirteen (13) weeks of allowances.

“We now use our money to run to do the work and we are not paid.” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Information at hand revealed that their work schedule is five days a week – Monday to Friday – and involves moving from one point to the other by those on the field to vaccinate the public against the pandemic.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the workers last received a part of their outstanding allowances over a month ago.

“And it was just payment for two weeks at amounts below what was due.” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The information at hand revealed that complaints were made to “supervisors” but nothing was done.

The information available revealed that the situation afflicts all Covid-19 Vaccinators employed by the Government across the state.

“We were employed by the local government authorities through the health centers. That is the way it was done for everybody across the state” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the agreement was that the workers will be paid weekly but the “government” has reneged with mounting outstanding of allowances as the year winds down.
