Senator Babafemi Ojudu Emerges Serious Contender To Succeed Gov Ayo Fayose As He Celebrates 56th Birthday

Former Senator from Ekiti state, Babafemi Ojudu turned 56 today.

And the gales of wishes and rivers of talks decorating his person reveal – he is a strong contender for the position of the next Governor of Ekiti state.

Incumbent governor Ayo Fayose is ineligible for another term.

And has maintained sealed lips on who he prefers to succeed him.Babafemi Ojudu

As the election to determine the next governor of Ekiti state inches nearer, there are said to be over 30 aspirants – including alleged interest from former governor now minister for Mineral Resources, Kayode Fayemi.

Ojodu had maintained very low profile on the issue, though whispers deft political manoeuvres towards the Ekiti state Government house trailed him.

But birthday  wishes on and off line  and pledges of support for the gubernatorial ambition themed ‘’Rescue Mission’’ has now blown the cover on how far he has gone.

“The calibre of people showing open and subtle support in the guise of birthday felicitation tell story of how far has gone” a source says.

“Obviously his serious and open minded approach to issues and politics has helped forged a support base across divides of political parties …the elites love him” enthused another source.

How well he is accepted at the grass root, a zone which outgoing governor fayose milks to the hikt remains unclear.

The governor keen to enthrone his choice as successor and the senator operates on different political platforms.
