Fayemi Tells Why He Built Elderly People’s Resort & Wellness Centre In Ekiti

The outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, John Kayode Fayemi has revealed why he put up an “Elderly Peoples’ Resort and Wellness Centre”.

Providing an insight into the reasons for the project that was commissioned on Thursday, October 1, 2022, Fayemi, 57, posted on his verified social media page….

In 2012, when I lost my mother, I promised that the Government of Ekiti State will build an Elderly Peoples’ Resort and Wellness Centre. In this, I soon discovered a coincidence of interest with the Council of Elders in the state. That promise could not be fulfilled before my exit in 2014. As soon as I returned in 2018, I teamed up with the leadership of the Ekiti Elders’ Council and we sought their input in the design of the project.

Yesterday, I had the honour of commissioning the Elderly People’s Resort and Wellness Centre in Ekiti State. This is a testament to the commitment of our administration to prioritize the welfare of Ekiti-kete, particularly, our prides, the older citizens. This resort is equipped with modern facilities to provide a befitting environment for the relaxation, healthy living, and mental alertness of our senior citizens.

We owe it a duty to love, respect, and cater for the well-being of the senior citizens and elders in our society.
