Kwara Students Ground Commercial Activities In State Capital In Protest Over Non Payment Of 4yrs Bursary Allowance

Commercial activities in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital is currently being grounded following a mass protest by students of Kwara State indigene over non-payment of their bursary allowance in the last four years.

Under the aegis of Kwara State Students Union, the protesters earlier in the morning marched to Ilorin office of the State Security Service at Ahmadu Bello Way where their acting President, Kamal Badmus was being held, demanded for his release, and forced the SSS to release him.
Subsequently, they left the SSS office for Government House which is nearby but are currently being prevented from gaining entrance by stern looking security operatives.

Sources said the aggrieved students are entitled to N5,000(five thousand naira) bursary allowance annually.
