Fresh revelation has revealed the person behind the ruling All Progressives Congress reluctance to honor the deal the party struck with Otunba Iyiola Omisore and his social democratic party to win the Osun gubernatorial election.

Societynow.ng learned Governor Rauf Aregbesola is fingered as the stumbling block to perfecting the agreement with Omisore.

Insiders disclosed that the main agreement with Omisore was that the APC would provide him with the ticket to return to the Senate.

But the senatorial ticket has been handed to Ajibola Famurewa, a hardcore supporter of Governor Aregbesola.

Societynow.ng learned Aregbesola convinced party chairman Adams Oshiomhole to back him on the premise of the need not to give life to a major opposition in the state and the national level.

“Aregbesola insists Omisore is a thoroughbred PDP man and that providing him the Senatorial ticket is arming the opposition” a source stated.

Societynow.ng gathered with no political appointment or elective post to his name and; currently the leader of a not in your face political party, Aregbesola sees Omisore has caged in Osun state presently.

“And Aregbesola wants to keep it that way in order to protect the APC’s hold on the politics and government of Osun state without any major threat to the party’s power” a source stated.

Insiders disclosed the clincher that got the APC leaders to Aregbesola’s way of thinking is the need for the party to regain control of the Senate.

“They don’t trust Omisore not side with Saraki and the PDP when the chips are down. Aregbesola is insisting that the bond Omisore shares with Saraki and the other side is too strong to risk helping him return to the Senate” societynow.ng learned.

Bukola Saraki- the Senate President- defected from the ruling APC to the Opposition PDP and retained his position.

There are talks Saraki plans to return to the Senate to retain the status quo in the next political dispensation.

Insiders are however insisting Omisore is still exploring means to get the APC to fulfill the bargain struck over the Osun Gubernatorial election at press time.
