Humbled Amosun Lobbies Osoba To Bail Him Out Of Political Crisis

Information filtering in has it that embattled Governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun has heeded advice to seek help for his political travails.

Amosun is enmeshed in an intense political struggle that has greatly reduced his might in Ogun state.

Things have gone so bad for the Governor that he cannot guarantee his supporters would get party tickets to elective positions.

Amosun’s problem has root in the fight for the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial ticket in Ogun state.

Dapo Abiodun his estranged friend became the rallying point for all those against Amosun and he won the gubernatorial ticket.

Amosun’s influence has been on the decline as he suffered multiple political missteps in desperate bids to get back the gubernatorial ticket from Abiodun and give it to his preferred choice Adekunle Akinlade.

Sources disclosed as things get worse for the Governor, his inner caucus mooted the idea to reach out to former governor Olusegun Osoba and forged an alliance for a bailout.

“The major political figures backing Abiodun against Amosun claim they are fighting for Osoba, so the plot is to meet with Osoba and work out a face-saving arrangement for the governor” a source disclosed.

Societynow.ng learned state chairman of the party Derin Adebiyi is spearheading the move.

Sources confirmed that Derin – acting Amosun’s approval – has reached out to Osoba for sit down.

“Osoba initially rebuffed the attempt but later agreed to a meeting at his Lagos home” societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng confirmed the meeting was scheduled for this week.

Prior to this development Governor, Amosun is accused of politically persecuting former governor Osoba in Ogun state.

Osoba was forced out of the party – but later returned – when Amosun denied his supporters benefits of party members, including taking away the Federal House of Representatives ticket of the former governor’s son, Olumide.

Interestingly Olumide has regained the ticket in a manner that demystified the political might of the embattled governor of Ogun state.
