The words continue to rage in the street that governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun at some points suffered restriction of his movements during the make or mar gubernatorial election in Ogun state.

Some have gone as far as labeling the alleged development ‘’a house arrest of sort’’.

Checks by societynow.ng have revealed the true situation of things.

Societynow.ng gathered the Governor found it hard to operate freely because of the added layers of ‘’security put his place to boost the efforts of his regular team in keeping him safe’’.

‘’There was no house arrest and no restriction of movement. The governor just found it very hard to operate freely with the new faces added to his team to boost his security’’.

Insiders revealed the same procedure adopted for a couple of other top-level players – in government employment – in the state.

Sources traced the development to insistence on heavy security in the state during the gubernatorial and house of assembly election by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The election held in Ogun state in the face of heightened security concern caused by throwing of objects at President Muhammadu Buhari during a campaign rally.

A Deputy Inspector General of Police, An Assistant Inspector General of Police and Four Commissioners of Police – including the resident commissioner of police- manned the security in Ogun state.

Amosun openly and intensely backed Adekunle Akinlade of rival Allied People’s Movement – and got suspended by his party – in the fiercely contested elected won by Dapo Abiodun, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
