A new political power has replaced suspended – and defeated – governor Ibikunle Amosun as the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.

And it is not former Governor Olusegun Osoba.

Insiders revealed the new power as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The former commissioner played a vital in ensuring Governor Amosun did not shame party members in making candidate of a rival political party his successor.

Amosun intensely backed Adekunle Akinlade, the gubernatorial candidate of the rival Allied People’s Movement to succeed him.

The governor refused to back down, even when he became Senator-Elect on the platform of the APC and got suspended for openly working against his own party.

While Osoba who was the victim of power play in the eight years rule of Amosun was the face of opposition against the governor societynow.ng gathered that it was Osinbajo that provided the “real power” that caged Amosun.

Insiders disclosed it was Osinbajo that provided the state influence and power that matched Amosun’s all through the political fight.
