…as Adebutu, Olowu, others denied VIP treatment at swear-in ceremony

The members of the think Tank team of the new governor of Ogun state, Mr Ibikunle Amosun are speedily falling out with each other.

And the reason for this is not far fetched- it is the allegation of inauguration fund misappropriation and diversion being leveled against one another.

Sources explained that topping the list of those facing the accusing fingers of others are members charged with publicity, entertainment, provision of usherettes and technical support – lightening, stage, sounds and related services.

Information made available to www.societynowng.com revealed the members of the think tank team are made up of professionals drawn from different fields- and represent the nucleus of Governor Amosun’s campaign team.

Because of the passionate support they contributed at the campaign stage and the subsequent success recorded, they were charged with staging a world class swearing- in ceremony.

Investigations by www.societynowng.com however revealed that the task which manifested on May 29 2011 (via a two part ceremony, an official swearing in at Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta and a Dinner at Valley View Auditorium) has continued to attract attentions for all the wrong reasons- and the feelers from outside and startling discoveries it is unearthing by the pitching members against one another.

According to sources, despite guarantees and provision of funds ahead of the occasion, ushers used nearly revolted over unpaid fees on the day of the D-day.

“They were all over the place fuming about how they intend to collect their money right in front of guests” a source disclosed

Informants claimed that funds allocated for select crews from different parts of the country were either outrightly not disbursed or released at a rate far below the bench mark.

The planned order of entertainment were not followed – with missing parts here and there- because of allegations funds were diverted and the affected activities had to be scrapped.

Complaints from outside and on the surface reviews of the event and discovery of the anomalies by concerned parties is said to be greatly rocking the Think Tank team- especially because of the effect the guilty sentence will have on the political promises and ambition of the offender within the fold of the new administration in Ogun State.

Outside of this internal conflict raging within the fold of Governor Amosun’s men, sources claimed that the new government is set to contend with angers of some A-listers in the state over treatments meted out to them at the two part event.

Topping the list of the angst-riddled personalities is billionaire lottery promoter operating under the street name Baba Ijebu, Chief Kessington Adebutu.

The money man and his wife were blatantly denied entry into the state box at the Moshood Abiola Stadium. He left the venue immediately.

The Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu was served the same stroke by the security men. He was forced to sit among sectional heads of lower cadre while fellow first class traditional rulers such as Osile Oke Of Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, Alake of Egba, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and others enjoyed V.I.P treatment inside the state box.

The Olowu is the traditional ruler of former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s home stead.

Even part organizer of the event, Alhaji Teju Kareem of Zmirage was not sparred from the spate of indignities. He was refused entry into the V.I.P box and in order to beat the security personnel started climbing the gate and was dragged down and thrown off by the mobile police men incharge.

How these anomalies could be perpetrated and on whose watch are the reason Amosun’s men are currently battling one another as part of moves to weed out those they believe have outlived their usefulness in the scheme of things.
