Wale Edun has ended the chances of Dimeji Bankole of becoming a minister in the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu those who should know insist.

Edun is on the list of the 28 nominees for screening as ministers presented to the National Assembly by President Tinubu.

Despite the claims that the list is fingered as the first batch, those who should declared that Edun’s inclusion has ended Bankole’s chances because he is on the list, on the slot of the same zone as Bankole.

“Edun has used the Egba slot, if any other persons will be picked from Ogun state as a possible minister it will be from other zones” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The major zones in Ogun state are Egba, Ijebu and Yewa. President Tinubu won the Presidential election by wide margins in all the zones.

SocietyNow.Ng’s further checks revealed that supporters of Bankole are, however, upbeat he would get a major federal appointment despite these claims.

Bankole on the campaign trail

The 53years old was one of those that acquired the nomination form to become the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 Presidential election but stepped down and campaigned for President Tinubu.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that aside his ceaseless presence at campaigns for President Tinubu, the former Federal House of Representatives member – June 3, 2003 to June 6, 2011 – deployed the expanded influences he inherited from his father, chief Alani Bankole to join hands in negotiating the vast support that produced the groundswell victory in the north.

His apparent and inherent contributions to President Tinubu’s victory is what is giving his supporters great conviction that he would get a deserving federal appointment according to information at hand.

But those with keen understanding of politics insist that based on the norms, Edun listing has ruled out a ministerial nomination for Bankole.
