Dimeji Bankole Returns To Public Glare With New Task

Former presidential aspirant, Dimeji Bankole is back in the public space.

The former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives went low profile after paying One hundred million Naira to vie for the Presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election.

He did not undertake any visible campaign to win the presidential ticket nor make any noise about being an aspirant.

“He was just simply not there at least openly in the race to win the APC ticket and after Asiwaju Tinubu emerged winner” SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed.

Tinubu won the contest with 1,271 votes with Rotimi Amaechi polling 316 votes to become a distant second at the presidential primary election held at Eagles Square Abuja in June 2022. Vice President Osinbajo recorded  235 votes to place third.

All through the process and after, Bankole was “not visible”.

The former Gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state on the platform of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2019 election won by Dapo Abiodun of the APC has, however, resurfaced. And with a new task.

He has joined the campaign team of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the frontrunner candidate for the 2023 election. The former speaker’s new task is said to be working for the election of Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria “with what he has”.

Bankole was on the entourage when Tinubu and his vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima met with Igbo leaders at a town hall meeting in Owerri, Imo state on Thursday, November 17, 2022, to cement support for the 2023 election.

“The APC presidential candidate met with leaders of the private sector and trade associations in the southeastern part of Nigeria” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

One of the highlights of the deliberation was the donation of N1billion by two thousand Igbo businessmen to the campaign fund of the APC presidential candidate.
