Dapo Oluseun Abiodun, the 61year old Governor of Ogun State is a man of faith.

He believes fate made him the Governor of Ogun State and took many decisions on this premise when he took office on May 29, 2019.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that this conviction led him to turn down urgings to inherit the formidable political structure of late Kashamu Buruji.

Buruji, a former Senator from Abiodun’s political zone (Ogun East) – and a serial gubernatorial candidate – died on August 8, 2020.

The deep pocket of many controversial parts, though in a rival People’s Democratic Party (PDP), played a role in the emergence of Abiodun as the Governor of Ogun State.

Kashamu’s political moves halted strong opposition from the PDP and boosted Abidoun’s with a directive to his formidable supporters to support the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abiodun faced stiff opposition from Adekunle Akinlade, the candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) sponsored by a fellow party man and outgoing governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Kahsamu died of Covid-19 complications a year and five months after Abiodun won the 2019 gubernatorial election.

SocietyNow.Ng.com gathered that urged to take over the formidable political structure of Kashamu through funding and related resources, Abiodun who won election with the help of different political structures asserted there was no need.

“The gist has it that one of the Governor’s friends, Teddy Shine ( connected Tunde Oshinowo) was particularly over the matter but the Governor insisted there was no need to make such a move” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Former Governor Gbenga Daniel took over the Kashamu group but kept them in place as members of the PDP and has enjoyed higher within and outside the APC in Ogun state since then.

Daniel was the poster boy of the PDP in Ogun state before he defected to the APC.

Before his death, Kashamu Buruji courtesy of his statewide and very virile group took the shine of many notable politicians in Ogun state – including the inheritor of his political structure, Gbenga Daniel.

“It would have been a good opportunity for Gov Abiodun who came to office on borrowed platforms to start forging his own. He would probably have acted otherwise if it were now, with the experience he has garnered in office” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The Ogun State Governor is seeking another term in office with his never far away opponent, Amosun backed by other friends turned foes already setting up stumbling blocks.
