Gov Abiodun, Dep Salako -Oyedele Adamant On Not Moving Into Official Residences

in the face of the expiration of their four-year tenure next year

Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun and his Deputy Noimot Salako – Oyedele are adamant about not taking up residences in their official quarters.

This is in the face of the expiration of their four-year tenure next year – May 2023.

Abiodun and Salako -Oyedele refused to move into their official quarters when they were sworn in on May 29, 2019.

There were initial excuses of the need to do repairs and muted claims of “spiritual cleansing” as the causes.

Claims of the paucity of funds for the needed repairs were later thrown up while Governor Abiodun commune to work from his private residence in Iperu –outside the state capital, Abeokuta – and an alternative accommodation provided for Deputy Governor Salako – Oyedele near her official quarters.

They have stuck to the arrangements since then with the skeletal staff kept at the official residences for the basic housekeeping functions.
