Those who should know have pointed out a major gain of Senator Gbenga Daniel in his recent spat with Govenor Dapo Abiodun.

“It has re-emphasized his status as a stand alone political leader in Ogun state” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

This development is in the face of the growing profile of former Governor Olusegun Osoba as the face of the Presidency Ogun state.

And the Federal Government appointments about to be made by President Bola Tinubu

Osoba has transformed the political godfather of Abiodun. And is decorated with talks of the emerging cover person for the Governor’s allies including all the other Senators in Ogun state excluding Daniel.

“So the major gain of Daniel’s recent disclosure that sparked the latest row is to reaffirm his position as a stand alone political leader, and put emerging speculations in context” according to political watchers.

Daniel and Abiodun, two headline politicians in Ogun state are engulfed in an intense power struggle. 

Daniel’s recent disclosure that the genesis of the fight has roots in his support for the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the President of Nigeria gave the fight added fuel.

Abiodun supported former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to get the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential ticket for the 2023 election. The Governor, however, dutifully supported Tinubu after he became Presidential candidate.

Osoba is acknowledged as one of the vital components that oiled  the machinery that made Asiwaju Tinubu the President of Nigeria.

He is one of the only two persons – the other is Bisi Akanda – recognized in individual capacity by President Tinubu in his inaugural speech.

Daniel is a longtime personal friend of President Tinubu.
