Supporters of Senator Gbenga Daniel are rendering songs of victory all over town.

The songs posture their principal as getting a huge edge in the raging power struggle with Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The political tussle between Abiodun and Daniel has shifted to who has the strongest influence in the Presidency SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The Governor has virtually become an integral part of the President Tinubu’s entourage, even on travels abroad, in the face of the intense quarrel.

But on his first visit- since he took office – to Ogun state today , June 29, 2023, President Tinubu made comments that Senator Daniel’s supporters are championing all over town as victory songs.

“Otunba Gbenga Daniel, my friend, I am now happy that you are now in Abuja [with me] in a different role. ” President Tinubu reportedly directed at the Senator at the Palace of the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode and told the all others in attendance “Please thank my friend (Otunba Gbenga Daniel) for me”.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that all the others in attendance include Governor Abiodun, Governor Dapo Abiodun, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako – Oyedele, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, House of Representatives member Gboyega Isiaka and related high profile persons in or with connections to Ogun State including the inestimable wealth, Mike Adenuga.

President Tinubu first visited the palace of the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode before he called at that of Alake of Abeokuta, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo in a two-part visit.

“The President has spoken” is the header of Daniel’s supporters songs of victory about President Tinubu’s comments amid such an august assembly at the palace of Awuajale.

Those who should know, however, insist that the President might have “spoken” but the battle is not as won as Senator Daniel’s supporters are making out.

“A lot things will still definitely come into play, the determinant of short term or long term victory is not yet out. And in politics five minutes is a lot of time not to talk of hours or days. And am sure those celebrating know that and are just doing this to shore up polarity” an observer pointed out.
