Ex-Gov Ambode In Rare Public Appearance

Former Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode has made a rare public appearance.
He was one of the A-listers at the launch of a book on the Nigerian movie industry by Steve Ayorinde.
The book titled “30: Three Decades Of The New Nigerian Cinema – A Bystander’s Verdict” was launched on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Mike Adenuga Center Ikoyi, Lagos.
Ayonrinde a former newspaper editor served as the commissioner for information in the government of Akinwunmi Ambode.
Ambode denied a second term in 2019 over a fallout with major players in the Lagos state power circle led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu sat beside Kayode Fayemi, the immediate past governor of Ekiti state at the event.
The former governor retained a low profile since he left office.
The book launch which had Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Alare of Ilera kingdom, Epe Division Lagos as the father of the day also had in attendance former Group Managing Director and CEO of First Bank of Nigeria Limited Dr Bisi Onasanya, the Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Dr John Asein; Brian Etuk, Director of Special Duties, Nigeria Film Corporation (representing the Managing Director / CEO of the Nigeria Film Corporation, Chidia Maduekwe), veteran actors Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, Jide Kosoko, Joke Silva, Sola Sobowale and others.
