Details available revealed the legacy businesses of late Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi are troubled.

Raypower, Faaji F.M and AIT (African Independent Communication) operating in Lagos state suffered a thunder storm attack that has left it operations at the mercy of epileptic power supply SocietyNow.Ng learned.

“The thunder storm fried virtually major the equipment that served the stations. It was on a Sunday and the stations went off air for hours before skeletal services were restored. They are yet to recover from that development” according to those in the know.

Dokpesi, widely labelled very generous and a lover of fine living, died on May 29, 2023 at the age of 71. He has been buried in the hometown he hugely contributed to its popularity on the social circle – Agenebode, Edo state.

The Lagos operations of his businesses operating under the emblem of Daar Communication opened the doors to multi-city expansions as well as international siting.

Though Raypower made history on September 1, 1994 whent it officially started operations as the nation’s first independent private Radio , SocietyNow.Ng’s check revealed that it is Faai F.M which started full transmission on December 1, 2012, that is leading the way with extraordinary followings – particularly on the streets.

AIT on the other hand continues to fight to regain footings among the major players with the latest occurrence in Lagos adding to the hurdles of the television network.
