proven to be false

One of the most visible aides of Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun has done a dirty “campaign” on out-of-town gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election, Ladi Adebutu.

And the campaign has been proven to be false – at least the picture used in the smear.

On Thursday, July 21, 2023, Emmanuel Ojo, the coordinator of all social media activities of Governor Abiodun and the Ogun state government posted on his social media page (Facebook)

“Lado boys should advise their master to come back home and prepare for 2027 instead of visiting 84 West Brasserie & Grill Lounge located at 82-84 Cricklewood Broadway, London NW2 3EL, United Kingdom everyday and night to drink beer.

“Let him come home and face the Music squarely. He should show us that he’s not a lily-livered politician.

Ogogoro no be vodka”

Lado is the informal coinage from the Ladi in Adebutu’s name while Ogogoro is the locally brewed colorless alcohol spirit.

The post by the Governor’s aide is in reference to Adebutu’s self-imposed exile over claims surrounding his safety as well as the election malpractice court case hanging over his head.

Emmanuel Ojo’ post was accompanied by a picture of Adebutu supposedly at the identified location and other complementary shots.

The picture used to validate the post by the Governor’s aide has been proved to be false.

Adebutu’s passionate backer, Korede Oladepo pulled the rug on the claim by Abiodun’s aide with a counter post that reads…

“Emmanuel Ojo I understand that the heat is too much from tribunal so there is no reasonable thing to say than to be petty. The picture where you cropped out Paseda is nothing but a joke. Hon. Adebutu was on a visit to Prince Rotimi Paseda during the electioneering period and that was Paseda’s house. You can only fool your gullible and dull head followers with lies, tell your oga Dapo Abiodun to present his WAEC certificate “

Oladepo provided a picture that confirmed his claim regarding that of Ojo.

“Pressure from Tribunal” is a direct jibe about Abiodun’s near loss in the March 18, 2023 Ogun gubernatorial election.

The Governor who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won his second term by less that 14, 000 votes and Adebutu is challenging the win in court.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate is disputing Abiodun’s win on the premise that there were orchestrated irregularities that forced the cancellation of results in areas where he is popular, He insists that he was leading by 33,000 votes before the cancellation and that by the doctrine of margin of lead before cancellation, he won the election.

Abiodun was declared the winner of the election by a margin of 13,915 votes. The Governor polled 276, 298 votes against Adebutu’s 262, 383 votes.
